Mission

FLN is a team of multicultural creative storytellers sharing Jesus Christ and his teachings around the world through media production inviting everyone to a lasting relationship with God that results in authentic life transformation.

Vision

FLN’s vision is to see specific audiences in cultures around the world understand, accept and grow in their faith in Jesus Christ.

Overview

FLN currently produces media in 12 languages each with their own ethnic producer, partnering with over 1000 media outlets worldwide. FLN has positioned itself as a creative content provider for broadcasters, the internet and local live events. Our global projects include programs in the following languages; Arabic, English, German, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian.

History

In the mid-1940's a handful of Bible College students dreamt together about new and innovative ways of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. What resulted was a creative venture which harnessed the "modern miracle" of radio. Henry Brucks, Henry Poetker and Bert Loewen spearheaded this venture which would later become The Gospel Light Hour. Their first live radio broadcast aired on February 23, 1947 on CKRC in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They began a movement based on prayer, vision, volunteerism and sacrificial giving. From the outset, producers were on-air personalities as well as active participants in their communities. Within 10 years the movement had grown to include broadcasts in several languages with a team of 150 volunteers. Today the original creative vision continues to define who we are and inspires us to continue seeking new and innovative ways of sharing Good News.

Accountability

Family Life Network became affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren Church of Manitoba in 1954. The MB churches of Manitoba continue to provide primary governance and spiritual guidance to this media agency. At the same time, FLN partners with 100's of local churches, media outlets, and like-minded community organizations in fulfilling its mandate.
